Vernon Hofacket

The Hofacket family moved from Oklahoma to Texas about 1922. The father, Ed Hofacket, was elected sheriff of Hockley County circa 1938 and served in that capacity for many years. According to one of Iva's letters, he also rented a home to the Moore family in the early 1930's.
The eldest Hofacket son was Vernon, who worked on the JA Ranch for a period of time circa 1930. He and Iva Moore (Tucker) dated during this time.
Vernon married Mary Jakcson McKinney on October 24, 1939, in Levelland, Texas. He died on February 15, 1993, in Boise, Idaho, at the age of 81, and was buried there.
Connections: Vernon was a ranch hand on the JA and dated Iva Belle Moore in the early 1930's.
